Many recent research papers have proven the negative impact of
cellphone and 3C gadgets on children and adolescents. While researchers

try to understand more about this issue, the structure of families (and thus,
parenting) is also undergoing a substantial shift of its own. In this paper,
we look at how different parents differentiate in their perception on the
issue of kids’ smart phone addiction. Parents are grouped by their gender,

marital status and as well as whether or not he/she is working full-time. The
research prove that, while both men and women impose restrictions on their
children to prevent 3C over-use, they do have different emphasis on what
can or cannot be watched. One surprising finding of this research is that

women who work full-time have a more similar attitude towards children’s
3C addiction as to men. The women who work full-time have quite different
(and sometimes a completely reversed) view about parenting than their
fellow women who stay home to take care of kids full-time.
